Nothing Considers Expanding Exports from India Amid Global Trade Uncertainty

New Delhi | April 19, 2025 — In light of escalating global trade uncertainties and evolving tariff challenges, London-based consumer electronics company Nothing is contemplating an increase in its exports from India. CEO Carl Pei shared this consideration during a recent Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on the social media platform X. He emphasized the company’s strategy to mitigate risks associated with fluctuating international trade policies by exploring enhanced export opportunities from India.

Pei acknowledged the dynamic nature of global trade, stating, “Who knows? Things are changing every day.” This reflects the company’s proactive approach in adapting to the rapidly shifting trade environment.

India has become a pivotal market for Nothing, with the brand experiencing a remarkable 577% year-on-year growth in 2024, as reported by Counterpoint Research. This surge was primarily driven by the success of its Phone 2a series and products under its sub-brand CMF by Nothing. Furthermore, the company recently surpassed $1 billion in cumulative revenue, underscoring its significant presence in the Indian market.

Demonstrating a strong commitment to the Indian market, Nothing has been focusing on local manufacturing under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Its recent devices, Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro, are assembled in India, aligning with the government’s push for self-reliance in electronics manufacturing. This strategy not only supports the local economy but also enables the company to manage costs effectively and respond swiftly to changes in the global supply chain.

To further strengthen its operations in India, Akis Evangelidis, co-founder of Nothing, has been appointed as the President of India Operations. Evangelidis emphasized that India is “one of the most important markets” for the company and announced plans to invest more in the country, including expanding the company’s offline presence to over 12,000 stores and increasing local manufacturing in 2025.

As global trade dynamics continue to evolve, Nothing’s strategic focus on India highlights the country’s growing importance as a hub for manufacturing and export in the consumer electronics sector.
