Hyderabad MP and Congress leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy Uttam has called for official clarification regarding recent reports of Indian fighter jets being shot down during Operation Sindoor. Speaking to the media, Uttam expressed serious concern over the conflicting narratives emerging around the high-profile military operation, demanding transparency from the defence authorities.

Reports circulating on social media and certain news portals have claimed that Indian Air Force jets were downed near the Line of Control during a critical counter-insurgency phase of the operation. Uttam questioned the government’s silence on the matter, stating that if the reports were false, the Ministry of Defence must issue a formal statement to dispel misinformation and uphold public trust.

The Congress MP also criticized the ruling BJP government for withholding important national security updates from the public and Parliament. He emphasized that any loss of aircraft or personnel must be acknowledged promptly to maintain institutional accountability and to counter foreign propaganda.

Operation Sindoor has been underway in sensitive border zones, and while officials have lauded its strategic gains, no detailed briefings on its scope or results have been made public yet.
