Hyderabad, April 26:

A Pakistani citizen was arrested in Hyderabad for allegedly entering India illegally via Nepal, police sources confirmed on Friday. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, local authorities detained the man, who reportedly crossed the Indo-Nepal border without any valid documentation and managed to reach Hyderabad.

Officials stated that during preliminary questioning, the individual failed to provide legal travel documents, including a visa or passport. Investigators are now verifying his background and trying to ascertain the purpose of his stay in India.

The incident has raised serious concerns regarding border security and internal surveillance mechanisms. Security agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau and local police, have launched a wider investigation to determine if the man had any accomplices or was part of a larger network involved in illegal cross-border movements.

In response to the development, security has been beefed up in sensitive areas of Hyderabad, with authorities appealing to citizens to report any suspicious activities.

Meanwhile, the Hyderabad police have filed a case under relevant sections of the Foreigners Act and the Indian Penal Code. Further investigation is underway.
