Jinnaram, Telangana | April 24, 2025 — Tensions escalated in Jinnaram village of Sangareddy district after a mob attacked the Madrasa Arabia Taleem Ul Quran and attempted to set fire to the nearby Hazrat Gharib Shah Wali dargah, alleging that madrasa students had vandalized two Shiva idols at a local temple. However, CCTV footage later revealed that the damage was caused by monkeys.

According to V. Satyanarayana, IG Multizone, “We examined the CCTV footage and found a group of monkeys came to the site and damaged the idol.”

During the assault, teachers and students at the madrasa were physically attacked and threatened. After police intervened and dispersed the crowd, the mob proceeded to the dargah, where they set parts of the shrine on fire and desecrated the chadar laid at the site.

In response to the violence, heavy police deployment was made in the Islampur area of Jinnaram Mandal. Local community members and madrasa authorities condemned the attacks and demanded action from the District Superintendent of Police.

A delegation of Muslim leaders from the ruling Congress party in Telangana, led by Mohammed Faheem Qureshi, submitted a formal complaint to DGP Dr. Jitender, urging strict action against the perpetrators under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). AIMIM MLA Kausar Mohiuddin also met with Sangareddy District Superintendent of Police, Mr. Paritosh Pankaj, I.P.S., demanding accountability for the attacks.

Despite the incident occurring over 24 hours ago, no arrests have been made, leading to protests from the Muslim community in the surrounding areas.
