April 19, 2025 — Mumbai: Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has lauded Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya for his unwavering determination and leadership during the ongoing IPL 2025 season. Jadeja highlighted Pandya’s ability to inspire the team, especially during challenging moments.
Speaking on JioHotstar, Jadeja remarked, “Hardik Pandya is a character, and he is leading from the front — whether it’s batting, bowling, fielding, or even off the field. He’s always smiling. The one thing about him — he never gives up. Last year wasn’t the best for him, but this year, even without great results early on, he’s stayed true to his style.”
Jadeja pointed to MI’s recent victory over Delhi Capitals as a turning point, stating, “That game was gone; most teams would’ve given up. But Mumbai Indians clawed back — and that’s Hardik Pandya for you. That was the game that may well have turned their season around.”
Under Pandya’s captaincy, MI has secured consecutive wins against Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, improving their position in the league standings. As of now, Pandya is among the joint second-leading wicket-takers in IPL 2025, with 11 wickets in six matches.
MI aims to continue their winning momentum in their upcoming match against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium.
