The Gaza Strip has plunged deeper into crisis as Israeli occupation forces intensify their military campaign, targeting hospitals and civilian infrastructure while enforcing evacuations across northern Gaza. According to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Media Observatory, the week of May 13–19, 2025, witnessed 621 Palestinians killed and 1,763 wounded. This marks one of the deadliest weeks since October 7, 2023, with the total death toll now surpassing 54,941 and 129,497 injured.

The Israeli military appears to be executing a strategy aimed at depopulating northern Gaza. Civilians are being forced to evacuate through continuous bombardment and by rendering key facilities, including hospitals, inoperable. Aid is being deliberately redirected to southern Gaza, pressuring displaced populations to move southward under the guise of “voluntary displacement.”

The OIC documented systematic attacks on critical medical infrastructure, including the Indonesian Hospital, Hamad Hospital for Prosthetics, and the European Hospital in Khan Yunis. Even Al-Shifa Medical Complex and Nasser Hospital were not spared. These attacks come alongside a newly imposed evacuation plan affecting neighborhoods like Al-Rimal and areas around the Islamic University.

At least 300,000 Palestinians have been displaced for a second time following the destruction of over 1,000 housing units in Beit Lahia, Beit Hanoun, and Jabalia. The campaign is widely interpreted as a move to obliterate the last remaining structures in northern Gaza.

Meanwhile, Israeli aggression has intensified in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem. Two Palestinian children were killed, four others injured, and nine children arrested. Settlers physically assaulted a young girl in Hebron. Israeli forces carried out 383 raids, arresting 175 individuals, demolishing homes, schools, and even targeting religious sites including Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque.

Educational institutions have also come under attack. Schools in Salfit, Tubas, Nablus, and Bethlehem were raided, with one even transformed into a military checkpoint. In parallel, the Israeli military confiscated surveillance footage from Al-Quds Open University and harassed teachers en route to schools in the Jordan Valley.

Agricultural destruction continues unabated. Trees have been uprooted, land bulldozed, and property destroyed across Nablus, Salfit, and Bethlehem. The Israeli government has issued sweeping orders for the confiscation and clearance of over 232,000 dunams of Palestinian land.

Settlement activity is surging, with 13,117 dunams confiscated in just one week. New outposts and illegal structures are being established near Ramallah, Jericho, Nablus, Hebron, and Tubas. Settlers also desecrated archaeological sites and occupied private Palestinian lands under the protection of Israeli forces.

In total, the OIC recorded 3,775 violations by Israeli forces and settlers during the week, including 74 direct settler attacks. Homes were ransacked, farms torched, livestock stolen, and water supplies sabotaged—further compounding the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and the West Bank.

The international community remains largely silent as the Israeli occupation accelerates its campaign of destruction, displacement, and systematic oppression across Palestinian territories.
