Former US President Donald Trump has claimed that the US intelligence community misjudged Iran’s nuclear capabilities, leading to flawed decisions on international policy and military strategy.

Speaking at a recent press event, Trump criticized US intelligence agencies for what he termed “inaccurate assessments” of Tehran’s nuclear intentions and capabilities. He argued that this miscalculation resulted in heightened tensions and unnecessary sanctions during his tenure.

Trump added that while Iran had the infrastructure for enrichment, it was not on the brink of nuclear weaponization as earlier claimed by US agencies. He also accused political rivals of leveraging these misjudgments to escalate confrontation with Tehran unnecessarily.

These remarks come amid renewed global scrutiny of Iran’s nuclear activity and ongoing conflict in the Middle East, with concerns rising about the possibility of nuclear escalation involving Israel and Iran.
