A new comprehensive global study has revealed that Muslims now constitute one-fourth of the world’s population, marking a significant demographic shift. The research, conducted by a leading demographic institute, highlights the rapid growth of the Muslim population, both in terms of absolute numbers and geographic spread.
According to the study, Muslims currently represent approximately 25% of the global population, a figure projected to increase further in the coming decades due to higher birth rates and youthful demographics in many Muslim-majority countries. The study also pointed out that Islam continues to be the fastest-growing major religion worldwide.
The findings show notable increases in Muslim populations across Europe and North America, driven by both immigration and conversion trends. The report attributes this rise to a combination of factors including fertility rates, global mobility, and growing interest in Islamic teachings among diverse populations.
Analysts believe this shift will have a significant impact on global culture, politics, and economics, calling for deeper intercultural engagement and inclusive policy planning across regions.
