A 43-year-old woman identified as Pooja Jain died by suicide after jumping from the fifth floor of her apartment building in Himayatnagar, Hyderabad, on August 2, 2025. According to authorities, she left a handwritten note stating her decision to take “this step to meet God through self‑sacrifice.”
The incident occurred while her husband, Arun Kumar Jain, was at his workplace and she was alone at home. Police recovered the note and have initiated an investigation into her mental state and personal circumstances. A case has been formally registered, and authorities are conducting further inquiries.
Mental health professionals emphasise that such expressions of “spiritual surrender” in suicide notes require sensitive interpretation, as they can mask deep emotional distress. While authorities have not identified any explicit signs of foul play, a thorough probe is underway to rule out any other factors.
